We came to Chicago for a conference at McCormick Place and have been craving Filipino Food. We live in Georgia and we don't have any Filipino Restaurants close to home, because Filipinos live too far apart to sustain a Pinoy restaurant business. At Kusinang Pinoy we had laing, binagoongan and daing na galunggong. To our delight, each meal came with sabaw ng tinola and white rice and it was perfect! Loved every dish and the owner and servers are uber nice and very hospitable. Highly recommend this place and we are sure we will deliberately drive to this place next time we are in the Windy City!

Did not know what to expect never having Filipino food before. This place was wonderful awesome and outstanding! The Sunday buffet was 99% meat dishes! And most of that pork done with an amazing love of the food. The staff was wonderful and helpful, explaining the food and checking in on us all the time! Price of only 10.99 per person for buffet can't be beat! They offer Togo specials every day also.

Best Filipino Authentic Cuisine in Chicago! A family friendly restaurant. Found this in South Suburb while driving through Cicero Avenue. They served buffet every Sunday. All the dishes are authentic and very delicious.. Staff and owner are friendly. I have a sweet tooth. And I am very happy that they have different varieties of desserts truly home made and very exquisite.

Filipino restaurant in middle of Oak Forest? What? How did I even get here in the first place? I was visiting a friend of mine last weekend and I came across this place when I got off on the wrong exit on I-57. This place is really easy to miss, it's nestled in small strip mall next to some insurance company, Asian store, and AC/Heating company between 161th(I know, this place is hella far son!) and 162rd off of Cicero ave. I walked and thinking I would just get something quick but when I saw the slab of deep fried pork belly (Lechon Kawali) I stopped myself and started to investigate little more. Menu is somewhat extensive but when I asked for kare-kare but They didn't have any, when it was clearly on the menu.... bleh. You suck ass! And the guy behind the counter asked me if I was Filipino....... Are you serious? I don't look anything like a Filipino man. Anyhow, I ordered Pancit (12.99) and it's HUGE, HUGE, HUGE portion. Enough to feed 3-4 people. And 1LBS of Lechon Kawali (6.99) and Ampalaya (bitter melon) con Carne (6.99). They were pretty good in taste but they do get an extra star for being pretty close to my friends house. I probably visit twice a month and this place sure can satisfy my need for a Filipino food. Lechon Kawali with Mang Tomas sauce.... Hot damn man, it's good enough to kick little babies in the face! On the second thought, I should have. That little girl got me sick as hell right now. I had her on my lap and we were playing and she started coughing. Now I'm sick. OK, back to the food. It's something you can't enjoy often though, unless you want a triple bypass surgery within a year. Perfectly crispy skin, moist meat and layer of fat.... oh man.. I think I might've just had an accident in my pants. OK I'm kidding. Pancit? You can't really mess that up, unless you are an jackass. Ampalaya con Carne wasn't the same I've tasted when I was in Philippines or Bahrain but the sauce made it pretty decent. I think they soaked the Ampalaya too long in the water, it wasn't bitter enough for me. I've got to try their breakfast short order next time, or maybe I will swing by Sunday afternoon for their buffet. They start on Sunday at 11AM and closed on Mondays.

The place is very cozy and clean. The food selection was okay. I did not come in for the buffet, but next time I probably will. My father and I got the meal which came with 2 dishes, rice, and a drink for $6.99 I believe. The serving size of the rice was plenty however when it came to the meat portions my dad probably got about 4 small pieces of meat in his dish. It was very disappointing. Overall the experience was just okay.

usually cater here for egg rolls & pancit for special occasions & pacquiao fights. usually don't have the food ready on time(filipino time) so call in your orders 15 mins earlier than the time you want to pick it up.
